VISITING THE MOTHERLAND: EL SALVADOR
Home is not just a place. Home is a feeling. At least for me it is. I could be driving down the Mediterranean Coast, I could be flying across the world, I could be thousands of miles away from “home” yet feel “at home.” My point is the following: Home is where you feel something, something special, something that pulls at your heart strings. The feeling can last an hour or maybe just a second but you know it when it’s there. Travel brings a home away from home.
Last month, we traveled to El Salvador, the motherland. The people, the food, the culture were beyond amazing. The beaches, volcanoes and small towns were beautiful. Watching the sunrise in El Tunco beach, the most famous Salvadorian surfing beach, was mesmerizing. Sun-bathing and watching the sunset in La Costa Del Sol, one of the most famous beaches in El Salvador, left us awestruck. Hiking up Volcán Ilamatepec, which is 2,381 meters above sea level making it the hightest volcano in El Salvador, was an extremely rewarding experience. Eating authentic Salvadorian food was utterly delicious. Swimming in Cardedeu Residence’s infinity pool by Lago Coatepeque was easily one of the most breathtaking experiences. I could go on, believe me, but let’s allow the pictures to do the talking.
