CALIFORNIA TRIP + LIFE UPDATE
Hello babes!
It’s been so long, more like TOO long since our last post. We missed you guys! Now it’s time to play catch up and update you on our last month’s adventurous travels. Have you ever been to California? It’s definitely one of our fave states to visit. We have been to the Golden State numerous times, BUT I hadn’t been back to the beautiful city of San Francisco since I was 15 years old! WOW that’s years ago, more like a decade. Haha.
On this occasion our trip was during my birth month, we spontaneously got the tickets and headed to the airport!
We arrived to LAX on a busy Tuesday afternoon, rented a car and drove to San Jose. Traffic was what you would expect LA traffic to be, intense. We had a blast on that 7 hour car ride though. Leaving LA traffic behind, we drove by small towns in the middle of nowhere, the kind of towns where you get no cell phone service. No reception, no problem. We had so much fun singing along to our favorite worship songs and reminiscing on old childhood memories. Ah, good times.
The next day we headed to San Francisco. Our first stop (you guessed it!) was The Golden Gate Bridge! We made sure to take in the view from different angles. Before crossing the bridge, while crossing the bridge, and after crossing the bridge haha. Of course we had to get the best angles for you all! 🙂
Take a look:
After a long morning full of photoshoots, we headed to one of our all time favorite Mexican restaurants, the delicious Rosa Mexicano. It was a nice surprise to find out they had one in SF, we had only ever been to their New York locations. The food was exquisite. We did notice they changed their salsas, sadly not big fans of the change. ? The guacamole was mouthwatering, so flavorful, as always. 🙂
While in SF we stopped by Ketsourine Macarons. Have you ever tried macarons? Maria had mentioned how lovely and tasty they are but I had never gotten around to trying them. Now I LOVE them! They’re so cute and yummy.
We made some unforgettable memories those days. Being the explorers that we are, we jumped in the car and drove 4 more hours to Lake Tahoe. Little did we know that in a few hours we would receive one of the most life changing calls of our lives. We arrived to Lake Tahoe late at night, we grabbed some food and called it a night. It was early in the morning, the sun was barely rising as we were abruptly woken up by that dreaded call. Then, everything changed.
I won’t go into detail. I will only say this- Enjoy life to the fullest. Cliché, I know, but I can’t stress enough how true it is. One day we’re here, the next day we might not be. I did a lot of reflecting those days, thinking of the past, thinking of the present, and thinking of the future. Ever since that day, I try my best to tell my loved ones how they’ve impacted my life. Trying not to let a day pass by without them knowing how much they mean to me. Today, hug your special someones and tell them how wonderful and unique they are. We need to fill this world with good memories and most importantly, LOVE.
To the one I’ve lost, I wish I could hear your laugh again. We miss you.
xoxo, Diana ♡
